(AA)

The situation at St Anthony’s church today. When living in fear becomes your reality, you also take security into your own hands - which is what some residents here have taken to doing come nightfall. No entry without an interrogation and your bags are checked.

But terrorism researchers have said the sophisticated nature of the attack and the equipment used would likely have required months of preparation, including conditioning the suicide bombers and testing the explosives. Christchurch took place 5 weeks ago...

False alarm according to those on scene. But bomb scares are likely to continue. Locals near one of the affected churches have taken it upon themselves to inspect bags of people who seem like outsiders, entering areas past curfew.
